The Outpost Taxidermy

Brought our deer to these people when they were in Aubrey in November of 2021. To this date they have not returned or finished our deer. We paid our deposit and they ghosted us. Won’t return calls, we have been trying for years to at least get our deposit back. RUN! DON’T USE these crooks💣

Dropped of a Whitetail Buck for shoulder mount in December of 2021. Was delivered a mount that looked like the hide had been dragged down a gravel road, there was literally spots with no hair. He told me that he would take it back and "re-cape" it. I've called several times and each time been told he would deliver it down to McKinney TX. He doesn't care about the value of his word or the reputation of his business. There has been no contact from the business unless I initiate it, the mount has been paid for yet nothing has been delivered and it's been 3.5 years. At the very least he could return the rack and I could do something to preserve the memory of the hunt. This is not an ethical business and he has dishonored the taxidermy profession.

I have received my ducks back from The Outpost and they did a fantastic job mounting them. My son is very pleased of his trophies and memories of our hunt. The reason that it is 4 stars is the amount of time it took to get these back. Over 2 years. Quality is great if you're willing to wait. Thanks for the good work.

Absolutely the best. They processed a deer and a hog for me and did a phenomenal job. I normally do my own processing but this year I didn’t have enough time bc of work, I called to ask for advice and they ended up providing the best service I’ve ever had dealing with someone in the Taxidermy & processing business. The cuts and packaging they did are perfect. Got the same amount of meat if not more then when I do it myself and I’ve been hunting and processing wild game for over 20 years. I will 100% be using them for their services in the future. Awesome people. Awesome business

We have nine shoulder mounts in the house two of which have been done at The Outpost and the amount quality is far superior to any of the other amounts

I brought a wood duck to them over a year ago, I thought it looked a little rough but didn't have anything to compare it to. After getting other ducks back from another taxidermist I can say without a doubt do not ever bring anything there to be worked on. The quality is terrible, the price is high, and the wait is long. Don't waste your time bringing any birds to be mounted, you will be disappointed and out a lot of money for a bird mount. High price does not equal high quality here. Stay away.

I never leave reviews but I had to for this place. If there was a zero stars that is what I would give this place. Who ever mounts their ducks might need to find a new job. Not only do they make you prepay but they also take way longer then they tell you. The duck I received from them was horrible and looked like it was mounted 25 years ago. Go find a small shop who will care for your trophy so much better and for cheaper.
