Texan Taxidermy and Processing

Never been here before but I saw a few reviews and seemed like a good taxidermist. Dropped off an axis for a shoulder mount. Dropped off early November and picked up mid July. Pretty average wait on the mount. The detail is good and I thought I turned out great. The wall mount hook is a strong sturdy hook that sets flat on the wall. I'm happy and intend to drop off here again.

Would give zero stars if possible. Hands down the worst taxidermy work I’ve ever seen. Will never take another animal to this place even if it’s free. Update: the owner is trying to make everyone believe the negative reviews are fake accounts. We dropped my son’s buck off to this guy then waited a year unfortunately my wife was the one who picked up the mount while I was out of town working. When I finally seen the mount I was lost for word knowing I just dropped $800 for something that’s embarrassing to put on the wall, theres an half inch gap on the top side where they couldn’t close the hide. The cape they used doesn’t even look like the buck we dropped off and looks more like an doe. Like I said the quality and detail work is complete garbage!

Prepaid for a Euro mount, they cut the antlers off and put them on a fake plastic skull, they told me they made a mistake but never mentioned it during the process, we found out at pickup when we picked up the ugliest mount I’ve ever seen, the owner even argued and defended lying to us saying that it was a high quality mount despite not being even close to what we ordered and paid for, horrible customer service and refusal to offer a return for their admitted mistake

Jason is top notch. I’ve been to others in the past. Found him and stayed. He’s done euros, processing, hide tanning and 2 shoulder mounts for me. The wall pedestal I just picked up blew me away. He knocked it out of the park!! Thank you Jason for a job well done.

Tried calling multiple times was a little high on a euro mount 250 but hey hes done work for me before and did some good work on a shoulder mount but now i cant even get a phone call back from this guy dropped my animal off Nov 26th 2023 and dropped a hide to get tanned and have made contact with him 1 other time. He use to offer good service when he was doing it out of his house but now def piss poor service and would not recommend him to anyone, hope this review helps yall out on trying to find someone else on yalls taxidermy work. If the guy who doesnt answer the phone doesnt like this review make contact with me where i can get my property.

Reasonable pricing and the mount was done ahead of schedule.

When I first started going to Texan Taxidermy, the service was great. I received calls when things were ready for pickup and if I decided to drive to the building it would be open. As of the last month I have driven to this building and it has been closed (when it states open). Multiple calls to the owner, left a voicemail, no call back. I will never return to this particular business, if you expect to be let known when your game is ready(hide, mount, meat, etc), do not bring it here.
