Don’t use for fish. Brought a nice rainbow trout to get mounted on one piece of driftwood like a previous one we had done by a retired taxidermist and looks nothing like it. Sloppy painting in spots. Showed photo of the one we wanted it to look like which is the top on my phone and bottom is the one they did.
I couldn’t be happier with the incredible work done preserving my beloved pet tarantula of 20 years. The detail, care, and lifelike result exceeded every expectation and honored her memory perfectly. A TRUE professional—compassionate, communicative, and clearly passionate about their craft. Whether it’s big game or something as small and precious as a tarantula, this is hands down the place to go. My heart is full!
Brought my beloved Bichon Frise dog to the shop and paid $1500 on 11/21/2022 and as of today January 29, 2025, over 2 years. They haven’t given her back to me. Now, they don’t answer or return my call. Mark said she would be ready in two months on 3/14/2024, every time I called, he had a different story. Last two times, I spoke with him on 11/1/2024 and he said 2 weeks to 1 month, on 12/18/2024, he said almost ready. When she’s ready, they will call me. No call backs, now they don’t even answer my calls. Still waiting, I will remove my post if Mark gives back my baby. In the meantime, if you see this post, for your own sake, stay away from them! Update: Mark said on February 7th, he would send me a photo and video of her condition. Today, February 7th, I receive photo and video of my baby. Update from 1 star to 2 stars. Finally, I got my baby back after 2 1/2 years and she doesn’t look good, her white fur is stained, wasn’t cleaned just like the photos. 1 more star for having her back but regrettably, I won’t recommend this business.
The rainbow trout was quoted for 10 months to be done but it really took a year. The background we chose wasn't the one that came back. We chose rocks but silhouette seaweed are one it. There is a screw that is through the wood part and is noticeable. Otherwise the fish looks pretty good
Spent over a thousand dollars to get my cat’s bones cleaned back in June of 2024 and they ghosted me. Still don’t have my cat’s remains.
Mark does incredible work. I have used a few different taxidermists over the years up until I discovered Buckshot. There is no comparison, I wish I discovered him sooner. His level of quality and attention to detail is what brings me back again and again. To date he has done a life-size blackbear for me along with some skull mounts, and is currently working on my rug and a life-size coyote. I have also seen his work first hand that he has done for some of my friends recently, including whitetail and even fish. Truly blows everybody else away.
Pretty cool shop. the owner does exceptional mounts. He mounted my first deer years ago and ot still looks fantastic.
