Donabauer Taxidermy

Unfortunately I have to post this. I had him do a northern mount for me recently. I picked it up a couple days ago. The quality was not what he showed me in his garage of other mounts. The fins are junk. The paint work is like a rookie did it. And I'm pretty sure he gave me the wrong fish back. I confronted him by text and he asked what's wrong with it. I gave him the details and he refused to respond. Will not talk to me about if he accidentally gave me the wrong mount (it's not the same size as what I caught) he won't offer any sort of explanation to what happened. Won't do any sort of reimbursement for unsatisfactory work. Not even an apology to a customer about not meeting standards. I expected way more from a man who has 30 years experience and runs his own business. I'm super disappointed with his work and ethics at this point. I gave him warning as to I expect a response of any kind or I have no choice but to advise others to never go to him. It's really unfortunate. I had a great fish and was real excited to have it on the wall. But what I received looks to be from the 80s and I don't even want to show people this is mine. Highly recommend not using his business. If he ever responds and resolves this I will gladly leave a better review

We are very pleased with the duck and 2 sunfish we took to him. He does beautiful work. We get compliments on how great they look when people come over. I definitely recommend him! You won't be disappointed!

Seen a good amount of the mounts that come from this place. They all look great. Don’t know why you would state you were idly threatening to write a bad review…. The other guys review doesn’t seem realistic.
