The craftsmanship behind my mount is SECOND TO NONE. I was absolutely blown away when I received my fish back. Kevin is great to work with and could not have been more friendly. If you need anything taxidermy related THIS IS THE PLACE!!
Kevin has been exclusively mounting my deer and trout for over 25 years. His attention to detail is second to none. I drive over 6 hours round trip to pick up my trophies from Kevin. I personally don't trust anyone else to deliver my trophies. My fish and deer that were mounted 20 plus years ago look just as fantastic as the day I picked them up. Ray, the owner of Rockbridge trout ranch, uses Kevin to mount all of his trout. Kevin has mounted over 100 rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon for me. He has mounted over 25 deer for me as well. All of my mounts are in prestine condition.
Kevin’s work has unmatched realism. I trust him with all of my cherished trophies. He puts a ton of time into each of his mounts and never cuts corners. I have been going to Kevin for years and have my entire basement walls filled with his work. Everything has come back better than I could have dreamed. When I have company over they all comment on how real my mounts look.
I've used Kevin for many years to have my rainbow trout from Rockbridge, MO mounted. He used to be really good, but the last few years of using him have been a disaster. Last year, I was waiting on a shipment of two fish (one for myself and one for my mom). He charged us both separately for shipping because he said it wouldn't be safe to ship them in the same box. When the fish arrived, they were stacked on top of each other in ONE box. He didn't use normal packing material, but instead used balloons!! I've never seen such a thing in my life. Of course, the balloons popped during transit and both fish had some damage. On top of this, the fish he sent for my mom wasn't even the right one, and both fish didn't have the name tags on them (we had to get our own after months of him not responding). On a previous shipment of fish, he actually sent them to the wrong address, and on two other occasions he got the year wrong on the name tag. When you tell him about any problems, his response is sometimes irrational, erratic, and confrontational. It's been very disappointing and frustrating to see Kevin's quality and behavior decline so much. I'll never use him again.
Kevin is a highly motivated taxidermist with great attention to detail. Look closely at a taxidermist' commercial work before choosing who will do your trophy! Kevin is an artist who earns every penny, you will be glad you chose the best.
He did good work. On what he did. Gave him the skull, cape, and tail of a missouri hog i had shot (this was a while back) after a year passed, i get a call that he needs me to come pay him in the next 2 days cause he is leaving town, and its finished. he lost the tail, and didnt have my skull ready when the mount was. Not a big deal i guess. Ill come back...over a year later he tells me he left it BEHIND his building in a bag for me to pick up. He had found it in a freezer buried. I show up, a dog had it out of the bag, and had chewed the nose off it. When i tried to contact him, just a complete flake of a person. Does great work, if you want him to feed it to the strays behind his shop...
Had a bass done ten years ago and still looks like it did the day it came out of the water! Awesome work by Kevin! Just dropped off a crappie. Looking forward to getting it back.
