Of Fur and Feather Taxidermy

Hayley is talented in ways that words cannot express. The way in which she lets the specimen speak to her and is then able to channel its glory into a piece of permanence is incredible. She created this stunning piece for me and it has truly exceeded all expectations. I would 10/10 recommend working with her - you will not be disappointed.

Hayley is so so talented and is such an amazing taxidermist/artist. She is super kind and so easy to communicate with, and I could tell that she really cared and wanted to do the best job possible! She made a mount of my beloved pet rat and he turned out so perfect and better than I could ever have imagined! She kept me updated with how things were going throughout the whole process and I felt that I could trust her to do the best job:) If I ever have any more taxidermy needs, I will 100% be coming back to her!!

Hayley did such a great job with my starling. She was really easy to work with and offered me some suggestions on the pose and perch. She created a naturalistic wall mount without an up-charge. I'll definitely be coming back with my next find. Thanks Hayley!

I have now brought two of my dearly departed pets to Hayley for her pet memorial service and i’m beyond satisfied with my experience. I was referred to of fur and feather by a friend when my cat passed and i am so grateful for Hayley’s kindness in a such a hard time, and the absolutely stunning piece of art she transformed my late friend into. She is wonderful to work with and produces nothing but the best, highly recommend to anybody.

it’s taken me a while to write this review because i wanted it to be perfect, and grief is hard to conceptualize in writing. i’ll start off my saying- Haley is a such a wonderful human and her communication with during this time in my life was very comforting. i lost 2 of my fur babies on the same day and i instantly thought of her to help me memorialize them forever. she preserved my chihuahua of 17 years and my 13 year old cat’s skulls, resting on their beautiful pelts, with ashes and whiskers as well. all painstakingly done with so much care. i felt completely comfortable leaving them with her to immortalize them forever. i was honestly surprised when she told me they were ready for pickup, for some reason the 6-8 months she quoted me went by way quicker than i thought it would. even in the midst of a beetle colony collapse! (be sure to tell her if your pets had ANY chemicals or medications in their body or it causes havoc!) thank you Haley, from the bottom of my heart and soul. you are a true angel and have helped my healing more than you’ll ever know.

Saying goodbye to my best friend Clyde is the hardest goodbye I have faced thus far. I couldn't have asked for a better transition through this time than my experience with Hayley. Leaving Clyde's body in Hayley's care was the moment I realized how special this was going to be. She is so kind and loving. I immediately felt reassured that Clyde was going to be honored as he should. Months later (as is normal so don't rush the process) I received my most treasured item I now own: Clyde's pelt. He was an incredibly beautiful dog. His pelt, this talisman, carries his beauty and soft soul. Though I know it's not him, he is home. Thank you SO much Hayley. Thank you.

Hayley did an outstanding job on my pheasant and I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. She got every detail exactly right and was easy to work with. The mount is sturdy and locally sourced which makes it more special. I'm looking forward to working with her again on my future mounts. I'd recommend Hayley to anyone in the Portland area.
