I recently had Gray Taxidermy create mounts for a Mahi Mahi and a Barracuda I caught during my first deep sea fishing trip in the Dominican Republic, and I’m very pleased with the results. Both mounts turned out amazing — the Mahi Mahi is vibrant and colorful, and the Barracuda looks sharp and both look lifelike. This being my first deep sea fishing experience, these mounts are more than just decorations — they’re reminders of an unforgettable experience, and I’m glad I chose Gray to preserve that memory. Be careful trusting Gray’s with your trophy catch. I’d always heard if you are ever going to mount a fish, you are better off stepping up and paying the prices Gray’s charges to have it done. I’m sure there was a time when that was the case. I just received the mount from Gray’s of the 12 1/2 lb bass I caught this summer, over the holidays and it was terrible. It doesn’t look anything like the fish. It only has one eye (which the rep at Gray’s tried to convince me that’s standard) and the inside of the mouth and backside of the head is not painted or glossed. It literally looks unfinished and feels like raw plaster to the touch, he tried to convince me that’s standard was normal too. There’s no plaque on the mount like there was on the model, even though I gave the rep the information. Zero instructions for how to best get it out of the box (six large metal screws and base wood) or how to best care for your mount. When I spoke to the rep I was told, all of the above is standard in the industry (which sounded odd) and he went on to tell me "we do 25,000 mounts a year and they are all done this way…..we don’t have time for that". Now I get it! Gray’s has become big box retail in the mounting business. It’s like going to Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Wall Mart. If you want to pay premium prices and get a big box retail experience, Grey’s is the place.

Just received a nice shipment of my salt water trophies and I am beyond impressed! From the moment I began working with my sales rep Harrison, I felt appreciated as a valued customer. No pressure, just friendly help and guidance. My order arrived sooner than promised, crated perfectly to make the freight journey across the country. Every mount is extremely detailed and stunning! If there is a poster child of a company that needs the Bud Light treatment, this one is it. They get guides to lie to you (sure for more money) and weeks after the deposit that they say is to mold the fish BS! They tell you by the way, it will be way more than you were told and by the way deposit isn't refundable. These people are terrible and no one should do business this way. Please don't ever use these scammers, I will report them to the BBB and any other place I can as a scam. More than double the price quoted, bet I will find someone to do my grandsons fish for less than half the price and much better based on reviews I have seen!

I just received my yellowfin tuna mount and it’s absolutely stunning! The colors are next level, Grays really did a phenomenal job. I saw some comments about shipping cost and yes it’s a lot. But it’s via a hot shot/individual company, this is not something you just want to trust to UPS to take care of. The piece is an investment, you want to make dang sure it shows up like it was sent. Also I was quite impressed w the packaging, really heavy duty and well done to make sure your piece shows up perfect. Can’t recommend enough! It does take awhile, but they are making each one when you order it so have some patience!
