Stop by the visitor center for some absolutely stunning views—you’ll be so glad you did
The monument is enormous. Great view, great recreation area to picnic or even campaign. The location is just beautiful. I recommend anybody traveling down the eighty to stop and take in some of america's history n mother, earth's beauty
I arrived there and had no idea the elevation was that high!!! Crazy! Nice informative kiosks detailing specific facts and history of the location and surrounding regions.
I was driving a ribbon of ice traveling west from Cheyenne when I stopped in for a bathroom break. My goodness what a high elevation of 8700’ above sea level. Lots of room for big trucks all the way down to cars.
We stopped by the Lincoln Monument on our road trip through Wyoming, and I’m really glad we did. It’s not your typical tourist spot—just a massive bronze head of Abraham Lincoln staring out over the highway—but there’s something really cool and kind of surreal about it. The statue itself is huge (like, really huge), and it’s set up at one of the highest points on I‑80. The view is wide open and beautiful, and the whole vibe is very "classic Americana roadside attraction." It’s right off the freeway, so super easy to access if you’re passing through. There’s a rest area with bathrooms and plenty of parking, so it makes for a perfect stop to stretch your legs, snap a few pics, and learn a tiny bit of history. Would I go out of my way for it? Probably not. But if you’re driving between Cheyenne and Laramie, it’s totally worth the few minutes. It’s one of those unexpected little highlights that makes a long drive more interesting.
Very nice tribute, the area was a little beat up when we were there. They have some picnic areas.
Very nice place to stop for a bathroom break and to walk around. There's even an area to watch an educational video as well as some reading material. It has nice bathrooms and several covered pavilions to have a picnic. There's separate RV and car parking.
