Mike's Taxidermy

In 2010 my son harvested his first deer. The deer was a doe. I gave him the option for a shoulder mount or to have the hide tanned. He chose to have the hide tannned. I took the hide to Mike. I began to check on tbe status of the hide 4 months later as I was instructed. I was told it was not ready and the nonverbal communication left me with a sick feeling. I stopped period for the next 6 months and received various excuses. Finally I had to become confrontational and I asked if it had been lost. Mike admitted it was lost. The only compensation I was offered was 10% off a future mount. He wasted my time having me repeatedly checking on my request and I the trophy for my son was lost forever. I was reminiscing about my hunts with my son and this memory arose. Thanks for leaving such a negative memory associated with my son’s first harvest Mike.

Frustrating as he!! Mike has had my ol’ man’s deer for almost 3 friggin’ years. Always has an excuse, never an answer or solution. Here’s one: Give him his money back or the give him the antlers. Seems simple enough. I understand "life happens" but there is no excuse to AVOID your customers who have already paid you to do the work. If for some reason you can’t do it, okay, but how hard is it to just give the deer back? At this point who cares that it is paid in full. I can’t imagine what state the deer head is in at this point. But what happened to good ol’ American honesty and integrity? I’m sorry, he might’ve been a great guy at one time who did excellent work was highly recommended, but I’d have to say I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him and without communication or resolution, you would be better off going somewhere else.

He is very sweet and great at what he does! Yes it takes a little to get your mounts back but it is worth it!!! Plus he now has help so he let me know he is getting back up to normal speed. Our mount looks AMAZING!

Mike has had my bear for 3 years and a deer for 2 years. He is not answering his phone now. I understand that he has locked his doors to his shop. February(2018) was the last time I spoke to him and excuses continued as to why they were not ready. My best advise is go somewhere else as or you will be disappointed and out your trophy and deposit.

Mike has had my bear and large deposit for eight (8) years, I phone him every year but he just tells lies if he answers the phone. He is not ethical or trustworthy - take my advice and go to an honest taxidermist. He may be sweet (sic) but where is my bear and deposit. - now nine years? Mike, where is my bear (is it rotting at the bottom of some old freezer?)and large deposit? Now ten years.

Mike has held our trophy bear plus a large deposit for 10 years. He refuses to get our mount done. My husband has gone to see him and has called to the point it is disgusting. Now he won't return our call. RIP OFF

Mike's tax. No longer exist. Remodel taking place with new ownership. New spot will be cross between upscale flea market and best buy with a social atmosphere. May 2024
