Our wagon driver/tour guide Michael was outstanding. The breadth of information he shared with us was fascinating and impressive. Of course he did have the greatest possible visual aids for his talk. Eagles, ravens, and whooping cranes flying overhead, while we are just 10s of feet away from beautiful elk. Literally thousands of elk. Very special way to visit a wildlife refuge.

So many elk in the herds. Absolutely amazing experience. We enjoyed the sleigh ride which was super cold but they had extra wool blankets for everyone. I would do this again for sure! Very unique experience!

Lots of fun for the whole family. Our guide, Cole, was awesome - super informative and kind. You get right up next to the elk. (Try to go when they have their antlers.) We even got a good look at this unicorn female.

Great first stop to learn all about this area and their conservation efforts! We got to pick up brochures with ideas on what to do while we are here and the staff was super friendly.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! We got to pet the horses who pulled the sled! I can't say enough about this place! Cute gift shop with everything you might have forgot. Go in winter when the elk come down for food and dress like you're going to Alaska to ice fish and you should be ok, but if you forgot a blanket or gloves don't fret because they're for sale at the gift shop! Plus a ton of other things and free stamps for a momento if you have something to stamp.

This named as elk refuge, but we saw many many bisons there ... They weather was extremely beautiful in the fall season and field was looking so bright.
