Killian’s Meat Market, Processing, Taxidermy & BBQ

Terrible! I dropped off a Nilgai which is a rather large animal and this is all the backstrap steaks I got back. Tenderloin in photo next to sawzall for reference of size of animal. Called and they told me that what I got back is what is normal for that animal. 4lbs of steaks, I’ll never go back family recommended it and now they have a bad taste for them also.

We stopped in for a late lunch. I got a two meat plate, brisket and chicken. If there is such a thing as too much smoke... the chicken might have been over cooked a little. The brisket was was a wee bit dry with no smoke ring. I got the spicy sauce which was fabulous 👌. I can't speak about the meat market side of things, but the cuts of meat in the coolers looked good. The only seating area is outside on the picnic tables. I'll give them another chance if im in the area and hungry.

I had a half chicken meal. The smoke was just right. The chicken was juicy and tender. The green beans were spiced to perfection. The coleslaw was excellent. This will be one of my go to places in Hempstead now!

Customer Service awesome. BBQ beef flavorful as was chicken. However, Ribs were tough and under smoked/cooked.

The service here at Killian's is amazing and the woman who was the clerk was really cool at explaining what was available, what options/sides I might've wanted and etc,. The inside of the market is really clean and organized. So much so, that you can barely even smell meat. I got a brisket sandwich and mac and cheese, while I like for my brisket to have a little more fat rather than just lean meat, the sandwich was still pretty good, and the mac and cheese was similar to KFC's. I came in around 4:30pm so there was no one else in the shop, and I think this shop is all around cool. I would probably go earlier in the day to get the best quality of food. I would recommend this place! Don't be afraid to call them and ask questions, or even place a pick up order over the phone. They also accepted Apple Pay/NFC payment!

Don't be fooled by the size of the store. The variety they have is amazing. My son and I left very happy with what we bought from the selection they had.

So stop here to get a brisket sandwich, A small slice of meat Almost 12 dollars just a sandwich. LJ'S BBQ in Brenham, A Brisket Sandwich with more slices of meat a chips and a drinks same cost 12 bucks..🤷‍♂️
