My husband and I appreciate this veteran owned and operated small business in our community. Brian took really great care of our cougar. We especially wanted to save the skull because of the placement with the last piece of lead nut we were unsure if the skull would hold together or not. Brian skill level and precision during the cleaning process made it so we could take home a full intact skull with a pretty neat .45 hole. What a great story we have with that beautiful skull piece!!
If you want a professional mount, done exactly as you ask, then look no further. Bryan is courteous, professional, and knows what he is doing. Anyone that complains about how long it takes is a fool. I know of taxidermists who will take nearly four years to do a moose shoulder mount. He did my bear rug, and my brother’s bear rug in just over 12 months. He is working on my sister’s Idaho Shiras Moose shoulder mount and has been awesome in his communication and explaining his temporary road blocks. Don’t be that ass of a customer wanting their mount "yesterday". Let the man work and he will make your mount/memory come alive.
Bryan does good work but he’s extremely slow, not efficient and one of the worst communicators I have ever come across. I would call and text over months without a reply. He would promise me the work to be done on a certain date and two months later I would have to reach out to him. He still has a bird I paid for already which he hasn’t sent me. It should have been delivered two months ago but nothing. I can’t use him for future work or recommend him to others. He’s just too unreliable. I am putting this review out there to get his attention since he never reply’s to me. I’d gladly take it down if he will do what he said he would do.
Had Bryan do a black bear rug for me, it took a while as all taxidermy does. However, when I received my bear back it exceeded my expectations, his attention to detail and quality is unmatched! Beautiful Rug! I am very happy with the work he did on it, and fair pricing! Would highly recommend Counce Taxidermy for your mounts if you care about having top notch quality!
I gave Counce a wood duck of mine back in spring of 2019. I paid in full up front because that is how he said he did birds. I did so and was okay with that. He originally told me a timeline of 6-8 months which was also fine. Long story short I did not receive my finished product until beginning of 2022. Communication was poor. The amount of different time frames he gave of when he would get to it by changed constantly. Yes covid plays a factor I'm sure with supply of materials but not 3 years worth of delays. The product was good but overall satisfaction was not great with poor communication and duration of work done.
Did a great job for a good price and pretty fast too. Recommended
He did a great job with my Mule Deer, and I am very pleased with the final result. However, I decided to go here because they had the shortest lead time of any taxidermist in Ellensburg, and was told it would be done within one year. Given the COVID situation, I could understand some delay, but it ended up taking 18 months for me to get my deer back which I feel like is pretty unreasonable. I felt this review would be beneficial to other people searching for taxidermists in the area, as I know it would have been for me. Maybe getting a guaranteed timeline before dropping off an animal would be worth doing.
