John has done all my taxidermy since I've been in south Texas and he does amazing work. Super nice guy and returned my stuff with great turn around time

I took a Big Gar to him April 2022, he corresponded with me for the first year and a half, and now he's ghosting me. I guess i'm gonna have to turn him in for theft of services because I gave him a very hefty down payment. This is unacceptable. As far as I can tell this man it a thief.

In July of 2019 I paid a deposit and dropped off a redfish my father and I caught to be mounted. I’ve been strung along since. No one answers the phone when Ive called over the last 4 years about the status of the fish. My father passed away in 2021, and I’ve asked if I can just picked up whatever they have. It’s an important memory for me. Silence. Sometimes I receive a text back… but this has been the most disappointing experience. I had been hesitant to write a review, because I desperately want the fish back. But at this point, I don’t want another family making the same mistake. Avoid at all cost.

I paid if full for 3 mounts and a huge habitat display in 2016-17 and he never produced any of them. He’s now closed doors on his business and everyone that’s basically put the food on his table and roof over his head is out whatever money they paid towards their mounts. About $3000 in my case. He constantly lied about deadlines and the progress of my mounts throughout the years. Con artist at best. Not the first business that he’s done this with. I’m sure he will open another business and start his con game all over again. I know multiple people that lost their money to him in this same situation.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I paid $300 deposit for a deer head mount on 12/01/2017 with the balance to be paid upon completion ... which was promised 8 months later. He never produced my deer head mount after many attempts of following up. He always gives an excuse and promises at a later date ... but it is never done. After 2 years ... 02/11/2020 ... I have not received my deer head mount. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. When I asked for my money back, he said NO REFUNDS. After reading a few other complaints on this site ... I can see he has done before.

Submitted a down payment for a redfish replica in 2016 and still have not received my mount and its getting close to 2020 now. I've called the owner multiple times asking for updates and the answer is always it will be done in a month, some sob story on why he can't get to it, or he just gets an attitude. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake, go spend your money elsewhere.

Same story as other reviews I have read. Send deposit don’t get Animal back. Once you finally get in contact with them you get a sob story and will be told it will be ready in a couple of weeks. Which that has been several months ago. DO NOT waste your time or money with this place.
