My wife and I stopped off here today when we were in Cheyanne, WY. Wonderful museum. Great displays with just the right amount of information. Definitely worth a look when you are in town!

Informative and timeless place to learn about Western history. If you are not fond of taxidermy, avoid this post and establishment. Lots and lots of animals from all over the world are here to see, and taxidermy is done well on each one, in my opinion. Military soldiers, early Indian, early settlers, and creative artists' items are visually pleasing. Around 15 dollars and 3 floors of history. Handicapped friendly place to see our nations history.

I had planned to drop in to the Nelson Museum as part of my Cheyenne itinerary. The size of the facility & the number of artefacts on display were unexpected. I was really impressed. This is a must-see if you're travelling through Cheyenne. I hope to give more support to this institution in the future.
