Sundowner Taxidermy
Address, located in the United States, offers mule deer and antelope taxidermy services. However, the quality of service has been inconsistent, with significant delays in delivery. Communication appears to be a notable issue, as clients often struggle to receive timely updates or responses. The overall experience may not meet expectations, particularly in terms of craftsmanship and customer support.
While the facility may have potential, the reliability of their work has been questioned. Clients have reported issues with the final products, such as poor finishing and attention to detail. 17 months to get our mule deer and antelope (was told 10-12). HORRIBLE communication. I would have to reach out to my guide to have him call us back, he would promise pictures and would send nothing. Months would pass when he said they would be done, with no call. Excuse after excuse. We finally got our mounts and the mule deer is facing the wrong way with a cut on his jaw line. My antelope has glue and paint caked in the fur as well as bald spots. He offered to "fix" our mounts if we send them back. Said he would cut the heads off and fix them. NO WAY! He did end up sending back the second portion of our money to me after I told him I dont want him touching my mounts. I think he took on too many clients at once, is overwhelmed and sending out sub par work. So unfortunate.
Don't waste your time and money. Worst experience ever getting a mount. Was told it would take 10-12 months to get an Antelope done, finally received after 18 months. Don't count on communication, because this guy won't answer the phone and won't return your calls. Received the mount in the mail, and upon opening, I was highly disappointed as the hair was falling out, one of the horns were broken off, and you could see some type of bonding glue around the base of the horns, because the cape didn't cover completely around the horns.....because he used a different cape than what I gave him. They were my horns, but not my cape. The hair is falling out of this mount as a result of being in the freezer too long before curing the cape. This mount is useless, and this taxidermist should be banned from ever doing it again. I know I won't get my money back, but you should be ashamed of yourself Kodi...
We couldn't get a response out of the guy and when we finally did he wasn't helpful and didn't care to have our business. I finally recieved my prong horn and it definitely has a cape that is different from the one I gave him. The base of the horns is exposed and isn't covered because it isn't the hide I gave him. The head came in a regular fed ex box and was upside down in nothing but a small amount of packing peanuts. One of the ears has the tip bent over and broke because there was nothing protecting it. The hide isn't correct and I found a string hanging out of it in a couple spots. I can see glue in many places. If zero stars was an option I would chose that.
don't bother to do business with this guy. I brought my animal to the meat processor who took the hide and horns to him. months later I called to see if the horns were ready. he never answers the phone and never returns your call. i had to get the owner of the meat processing plant to get a hold of him. go somewhere else
Elk mount turned out awesome and completed in a timely fashion. Shipping to Oregon went smoothly with no issues. Thanks again.
16 months later still haven't received my taned antalope hide.he won't respond to phone calls text messages or emails.good way to run a business, not.
Good breakfast, great service.
