Friend and I each took our mule deer to Chaney last year (2024). Lousy taxidermy! He must have done a poor job of caping as both deer has slices that were poorly sewed, gaps around antler bases, ears are not natural looking at all !! Never will we take any animal to him again. Very disappointing!!

Stopped by to have him cape a whitetail. He got it done in an hour and had me back on the road. Great guy!!

DDay Gets Er Done

Had a hide tanned and euro done. He ended up breaking part of the skull and losing the broken piece. He still charged me full price. Sub-par work overall and over priced. Will never do business here again.

I had a European mount on a 6 point bull. They were very friendly and welcoming when I dropped it off. They called me when it was done. Did an excellent job on the mount. The owner told me to bring out the ivories so he could polish them. He did that as well and they look amazing. Very friendly and personable. I will defiantly be back. Great people!!!

This guy does fantastic work! He has great work ethic and attention to detail. Even when doing a basic euro on an elk for me, he went the extra mile. The skull was properly boiled and cleaned so as not to damage any of the most delicate nasal bones. He put a nice glossy coating on it also. Without me even asking him to, the ivories were given back to me clean of any meat and polished up!! He didn’t charge any extra. Much respect for this business and will gladly continue to do business with him!!

My wife recently lost her cat of 16 years. To say that she was devastated would be a gross understatement of what she was experiencing! She was desperatly trying to figure out how to keep his memory alive. She thought that if she had a taxidermist preserve him to help ease her pain, it would be the way to go. She called and talked to someone (not sure who) about the process. She was obviously expressing the depth of her loss. The gentleman on the end recognized it and showed her true compassion and understanding. With that said, he explained to her the nature of taxidermy and how he felt it would not be a good answer to easing her sorrow, even though, it would be a very professional job, inevitably it would be a difficult and bitter sweet reminder that he never going to come back. His empathy helped ease her pain and brought her a sense of peace. Although we won't be doing this, I commend him and recommend Chaney's for your taxidermy needs! Thanks!

He's done a full head mount antelope and a couple of European mounts (antelope and mule deer) for me. Antelope was done about 17 years ago and still looks good. He shipped it to me and it worked out like it should have.
