I have worked with John for several years on multiple animals. This year was the biggest challenge yet. I hit my antelope in the neck with a 7mm magnum leaving a large hole. I brought it to John and told him I didn’t expect a miracle. John assured me everything would be fine. As you can see, John did an amazing job. I would go as far as to say "miraculous". John is very fairly priced. Too fair if you ask me. Communicate with John early and get on his list. Reserve early. It is worth it and you won’t be disappointed.

Me and a buddy took a spoon bill to him in 2023. We have tried for the last 3 years to get the duck, or a refund. He won’t answer his phone, won’t return emails, texts, voicemails. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS Took our money, and won’t get back to us. It’s been 3 years.

I dropped a rare duck off and said he would get it done in about a year. He started to lie to me many times on the process of it being done. Eventually he stopped answering the phone so I went ahead and started to make a police report to try to at least get my money back. It has been over 3 years now and still doesn’t bother to call back. Probably the most unprofessional circumstance I have found myself in. Idk if something happened but the right thing is to not lie and explain what’s going on if so.

I also know there is health issues. But, I gave American Taxidermy $350 deposit to do a Deer neck mount(Three years ago!!!!!). My inquires are constantly ghosted. They will not answer the business door. All I'm asking for is my Deer returned with my $350 deposit. Unfortunately there is going to be legal action taken. This is a shame, John is known for good work. A little communication can go a long way (family member????).

This was my first buck so I had to have it mounted. John did a great job. The mount looks fantastic. Great guy and thank you for your service John!

Maybe he will do a good job or maybe it will be 5 years later and you will have been given nothing but some excuses and you won't see you 50% down payment again.

I have had two mounts done by John a turkey and a deer. The Turkey mount was not properly cleaned. Meat was left on legs. Mount smells and all feathers fell off lower leg. That's how I noticed the excess tissue. The deer mounts ears were over worked you can see stitching on one ear. The stand for the turkey and the pack for the deer mount both look cheap a thrown together. All in all he charges a premium for at best sub par work. There are many better options. The two mounts done by him are embarrassing to me and I keep them in the basement so no one sees them. He also took over a year and a half to complete these mounts then when he finished my turkey he harassed me on a family vacation threatening me all sorts of fees after I told him I was out of town for the week with my family. I also told him I would be by as soon as I returned home on Sunday. That was on monday and he still continued to call every single day of my vacation.
